On October 10, Alderman James Cappleman will announce participatory budgeting in the 46th Ward. Participatory budgeting is a community-based process where community members decide how to spend $1.3 million in Aldermanic menu funds. Residents gather at neighborhood assemblies, develop project ideas, and then vote on the ideas. If you are reading this, you would probably like to see infrastructure that promotes walking bicycling and transit as keys to a healthy, safe neighborhood. Come to these neighborhood assemblies and get your ideas out there:
Wednesday, October 10 @ 6pm (Anshe Emet: 3751 N Broadway)
Wednesday, October 17 @ 7pm (Thorek Hospital: 850 W Irving Park)
Saturday, October 20 @ 10am (Uplift Community High School: 900 W. Wilson)
Wednesday, October 24 @6pm (Stockton Elementary School: 4425 N Beacon)
Tuesday, October 30 @ 7pm (Peoples Church: 941 W. Lawrence)

Would you consider cross-posting this info on EveryBlock? I originally found out about participatory budgeting via Ald. Moore’s 49th ward posts there. I’ve not seen this info re. the 46th anywhere else so far, so thanks so much for posting it!
We do have a media relationship with EveryBlock and we can reach out to them to make sure they post this information. We’ll also update the locations soon. Thanks again.
